Pacific Standard Bar To Close After 12 Years In Park Slope

The business announced it will close on its Instagram page and has begun auctioning off some of the items that decorate the bar.

PARK SLOPE, BROOKLYN — A bar that has been on 4th Avenue for over a decade will close its doors for good next weekend. Pacific Standard will have its last day open on Feb. 9.

The beer-specialty bar announced on its Instagram page that it would be closing after 12 years.

"It’s been a great twelve years, but the time has come for Pacific Standard to close its doors," the post read. "Come and say farewell at least once as we approach our last night, February 9th. More details to follow."

The bar was well-known for its quiz nights, improv comedy nights, reading events and even had a membership program for some of its most loyal customers. It offered a rotation of beers, including specialty microbrews from California, where the bar owner John-Christian Godsil Rauschenberg graduated from Berkeley in 2000, according to the bar's website.

Since the announcement, the bar has been encouraging customers to come for its last round of quiz nights and happy-hour deals. The bar has even started a silent auction for some of the things that decorate its inside.
