PARK SLOPE, BROOKLYN — The vacant corner spot on Seventh Avenue and Lincoln Place will soon become a new bagel joint, and a familiar one to Park Slopers at that.

Bagel Pub, which runs a 9th Street location and a spot in Crown Heights, has plans to open its third location at 57 Seventh Ave., owners confirmed with Patch on Wednesday.

Most residents might know the space as Ozzie's Coffee, which ran from the corner spot for 18 years before closing down in 2011. More recently the space held Cafe Dada, a French-Hungarian eatery that shut down in 2017.

Owners told Patch they recently leased the space and are in the process of getting construction permits to update it and move in approved. The next step will be meeting with the Landmarks Commission since the building is a landmark, a co-owner said.

The owners said that more details about the space and when neighbors can expect it to open will become available as plans are finalized within the next week.

Records show that the application for construction was submitted in April for $22,000 worth of renovations to the space.

The renovation includes general construction, mechanical and plumbing work to the interior and exterior of the first floor of the building, but no changes to its exits, use or occupancy, the application said.

Residents can likely expect the Seventh Avenue Bagel Pub to have similar offerings as its other two locations, owners said.

The eatery serves a selection of bagels, coffee, fresh squeezed juices and smoothies along with some lunch options including sandwiches, salads, burgers, wraps, paninis and even a selection of fries with various toppings, according to its website.
