Park Slope Shooting Death Still Under Investigation, Police Say
No arrests have been made in the March 13 death of Dean Lawrence, 31, who was shot in a suspected road rage incident, authorities said.

PARK SLOPE, BROOKLYN — A fatal shooting that shocked normally-tranquil Park Slope last week remains under investigation.
NYPD officers haven't made any arrests in the death of Dean Lawrence, 31, who was shot in the head on March 13. The shooter sped off along Seventh Avenue after the suspected road rage shooting, authorities said.
The broad daylight crime shook Park Slope, where many residents that afternoon took to the streets to enjoy some warm weather before the coronavirus forced them indoors.

Some residents filmed the crime scene from their windows.

Police believe Lawrence, who lived in Ditmas Park, got in some sort of traffic fight with the shooter. He cut off the shooter while they drove near Sixth Avenue, according to the New York Post.

A gunshot struck Lawrence in the head and he died early Saturday in Methodist Hospital, authorities said.
Lawrence worked for the U.S. Postal Service and pursued a career in hip hop, the Post reported.
His death was the first suspected murder in Park Slope in at least a year, according to police statistics.
