Tractor Trailer And SUV Crash Snarls Atlantic Ave In Brooklyn

An 18-wheeler that crashed with an SUV stretched across traffic on Tuesday afternoon as responders helped victims, video shows.

PARK SLOPE, BROOKLYN — A tractor trailer that crashed with a small car shut down part of Atlantic Avenue in Park Slope on Tuesday afternoon.

The car and 18-wheeler crashed into each other just after 1:30 p.m., an FDNY spokesman said. Firefighters were still on the street around 2 p.m. helping victims of the crash, one of whom was brought by stretcher into an ambulance, video from the scene shows.

The spokesman was not sure which car crashed into which and said he couldn't confirm injuries from the accident.

Video from the scene shows that the tractor trailer, the car and FDNY trucks were blocking most of the eastern-bound lanes of Atlantic Avenue. The crash happened near the corner of Fourth Avenue.
