“This is one of the very best moments in Sachem each year," he said.

Vaccaro went on to say that the association can’t wait to honor the "very deserving men and women" who have made the district so proud.

"We have a large class because we are continuing to bridge the gap between the many years that Sachem did not host induction ceremonies,” he added.

Sachem’s Athletic Hall of Fame had its first induction ceremony in 2003 but did not have another event until 2016 when the Sachem Athletic Association re-started it. The association honors the most deserving former athletes, coaches, and supporters for their dedication to Sachem athletics each winter. The selection committee is made up of former athletic directors and coaches who help nominate and select the inductees.
