YAPHANK, NY — A man was arrested after killing a woman who was found inside a vehicle at a Yaphank gas station Saturday morning, police said.
According to Suffolk County police, Michael McHenry, 40, of Bellport, was arrested on Saturday at 8:13 p.m.. and charged with second-degree murder.
He was held overnight at the Third Precinct and is scheduled to be arraigned Sunday at First District Court in Central Islip, police said.
The woman was found injured in a vehicle at a Yaphank gas station early Saturday morning and later died — and police said they believed her cause of death was criminal.
According to Suffolk County police, homicide squad detectives are investigating the incident, which took place at about 7:25 a.m.
Juliann Bachmann, 30, was located injured and unresponsive, in a vehicle at the Speedway gas station, located on Horseblock Road, police said.
Bachmann was transported to NYU Langone Hospital – Suffolk in Patchogue, where she was pronounced dead, police said.
Following a preliminary investigation, detectives believe the cause of death to be criminal, police said.
