Applebee's Revives American Classics

Everything old is new again. With its reputation for being as American as apple pie, Applebee’s has taken three classic all-American sandwiches and enriched their flavor by adding a few twists.

Starting with the classic BLT, Applebee’s smothers its Applewood smoked bacon with American cheese, adds a touch of smoky mayo, iceberg lettuce and tomato and cradles it all on its warmly toasted Tuscan bread to create its American BLT.  Also new to its menu is a Classic Turkey Breast sandwich which serves up thick slices of slow-cooked turkey breast with crisp romaine lettuce, tomato and a dollop of smoky mayo for fresh flavor; a toasted ciabatta bun lends a light, distinct crunch to each bite. The last of its new classics will bring back childhood memories. Applebee’s Four-Cheese Grille is a grilled cheese sandwich that blends sharp cheddar with aged white cheddar, Asiago and Parmesan cheeses all melted together on freshly toasted Tuscan bread and served with a hardy bowl of tomato basil soup.

Applebee’s has also broadened its Signature sandwich lineup by adding a Turkey, Bacon & Avocado sandwich. Thick-sliced turkey breast is piled high on ciabatta bread and topped with creamy sliced avocado, Jack cheese, red ripe tomatoes, crispy lettuce and bacon; it’s all topped with flavorful green goddess dressing.

Each of the sandwiches can be ordered alone or as part of a lunch combo deal that is offered weekdays (Monday-Friday) until 4 PM. With prices ranging from $6.99 to $8.99, guests can create their own special combination from a selection of sandwich or lunch entrées and a variety of soup or salad offerings. 

For those shaping up for summer, Applebee’s also features a wide selection of entrees that weigh in at under 550 calories.
