Army Recruiter Had Child Porn in Long Island Apartment: Police

The man was arrested Friday morning.

PATCHOGUE, NY- A United States Army recruiter was arrested Friday after officials found child pornography in his Patchogue apartment, police say.

Authorities executed a search warrant on a River Avenue apartment Friday morning and reportedly seized a collection of pornographic videos and images.

The resident of the home, 46-year-old Terrence Cole, was arrested at 9:20 a.m. and charged with possessing a sexual performance by a child. Cole is employed as a recruiter with the United States Army, police say.

The search warrant was executed by Computer Crimes Section detectives and assisted by Fifth Precinct officers and officers assigned to the FBI Long Island Exploited Children’s Task Force.

The warrant was a result of a continuing child pornography investigation.

Cole will be arraigned Friday at First District Court in Central Islip.
