12 Residents Helped After Patchogue Home Goes Up In Flames: American Red Cross

UPDATE: Arson Squad detectives are investigating, Suffolk police say.

PATCHOGUE, NY — Twelve people were helped after a home that sheltered two households went up in flames in Patchogue on Sunday afternoon, the American Red Cross said.

The Red Cross Long Island Disaster Action Team provided emergency assistance to meet the families’ "immediate needs," such as financial aid, care items, recovery planning, health services, and other recovery resources, the organization said.

The fire started at the Carman Street location at around 3:30 p.m., and Arson Squad detectives were called to investigate, Suffolk police said.
