NuVillage Organization - Who ARE They?

By now many of the residents of Patchogue Village have heard about the NuVillage Organization. I know many people have asked me who are they, what do they stand for and what is their goal. Well, I did some research and found some interesting answers.

NuVillage is YOU! Now United Village of Patchogue consists of your neighbors and friends, local business owners; but most of all, the residents and your fellow taxpayers here who live and work here in the Village of Patchogue!

NuVillage is a group of individuals who came together in order to create a united voice to express concerns about the future of our Village community.

We all want to see our governments (local, state and national) follow a set of values, ethics and morals. NuVillage has developed a core set of principles, called the Declaration of Principles. These principles are the base of their platform - where accountability, responsibility and transparency of our elected officials will become a habit and an everyday occurrence. ALL of our elected officials can utilize this platform to create a focused direction for the future and development of our Village. NuVillage wants to be the voice of the people and the voice of ethics and balance in Village Hall. By challenging the current procedures, with reason and logic, the members want to help ALL citizens exercise their rights and become citizen advisors to our local government. The members want to be the pause button or edit button in Village Hall.

NuVillage is hosting its first Citizens Forum meeting on Tuesday, January 24th, 2012 at 7:30 PM at the Elks Club located at 14 Oak Street, Patchogue, NY 11772. ALL of the Candidates have been invited and are welcome to attend.

All politics IS local and this is as local as it gets. You ... the residents, taxpayers, the business and property owners of Patchogue Village should be able to have a voice in what is going on in your Village.

I will be at this meeting and hope to meet all of the candidates and Village residents and business owners at the meeting. It is OUR Village, let's all get engaged!
