The concrete jungle in Patchogue continues to grow.
Discussion of the new concrete bulk heading extensions placed on the Great South Bay by Lombardi's

A while ago I read someone’s comment on Patchogue Patch on how Patchogue Village was turning into a concrete jungle. Unfortunately, there is even more evidence of this subjective comment possibly moving into the objective arena.
This past week I took a walk down by Mascot Dock and noticed new bulk heading work at Lombardi’s on the Bay. This bulk heading is three foot high slabs of grey concrete affixed to the older wood bulk heading, this increasing the height another 3 or so feet in height. Aesthetically unpleasing is an understatement. It also seems that the elevation of the patio was increased to provide Lombardi’s patrons a view of the Great South Bay because the new grey concrete slabs would have blocked the water view.

I did not read any announcement or see any permits posted when the work was being conducted. I am not a whistleblower but considering that Lombardi’s in on the Great South Bay I was wondering if the DEC had to be notified when construction is being conducted on the waterfront. If anyone has any information I was like to be educated .
