Welcome to the Citizens Campaign for Open Village Government

We are hoping you have already heard about the group of Residents who got together and decided to video tape the Patchogue Village Board of Trustee meetings. Check out our recently launched website http://www.patchoguevillagecitizens.com where these videos can be viewed along with the tentative Village Budget for 2013-2014.

The group is comprised of residents involved in their Community, the Incorporated Village of Patchogue, NY.  This organization was founded in 2012 with the mission of educating fellow Village residents and to increase transparency regarding   the Policies, Practices and Procedures of our Village Government.

Recognizing that busy schedules often preclude participation in Public Meeting Forums, the goal is to increase awareness and facilitate participation in the open meeting process. To that end, we began video taping various public meetings in the Village of Patchogue, beginning with the Village Board of Trustees bi-weekly meetings.   It is our hope to expand this project to encompass other Village meetings, including the Zoning and Planning Boards.

The group has been instrumental in producing a finished video product and providing all of the meetings relevant documentation on line, prior to the meeting and in some cases prior to the vote on an issue.
