'Calculated Campaign Of Sexual Abuse': Patchogue Man Forced 6 Women 'Into Degrading Acts' At Knifepoint: DA
"His actions were predatory, deliberate, and devoid of any regard for human dignity," Ray Tierney says.

RIVERSIDE, NY — A Patchogue man was found guilty of sexual assault in connection with forcing six women, who were addicted to drugs and living in poverty, to perform oral sex on him at knifepoint, Suffolk County District Attorney Ray Tierney said Thursday.
Gary Conyers, 59, of Patchogue, was convicted of eight counts of predatory sexual assault, seven counts of first-degree criminal sexual act and sexual abuse, as well as two counts of second-degree assault, as well as one count of strangulation, the DA said.
The crimes took place in Patchogue, a spokeswoman for Tierney's office said.

Tierney said Conyers "carried out a calculated campaign of sexual abuse, preying on six vulnerable women and forcing them into degrading acts by threatening violence."
“His actions were predatory, deliberate, and devoid of any regard for human dignity," he said. "Thanks to this jury’s careful review of the evidence presented at trial, he has been held accountable for the harm he inflicted.”
Between October 2023 and December 2023, Conyers preyed
upon six different women, and forcibly compelled them to give him oral sex without their consent, according to prosecutors.
Conyers lured the victims into his car or home with the promise of drugs, money, and even a shower, prosecutors said, adding that once he isolated his victims, he used or threatened to use a knife to force them to comply with his demands for oral sex.
In multiple incidents, Conyers used the knife to inflict physical injuries on the women, including slashing one in the neck and stabbing another in the face, according to prosecutors.
Conyers also strangled one woman with her scarf until she lost consciousness, prosecutors said.
Following an investigation by the DA's office, police department, and the sheriff’s office, Conyers was placed under arrest in May 2024, according to prosecutors.
