Community Comes Together To Help Raise Money For Injured Cat
Just in time for the holidays, a fundraising campaign raised enough money to help a cat found injured in East Patchogue.

EAST PATCHOGUE, NY - Just in time for the holidays - the Patchogue community came together to help an injured cat. Dawn Lappin, an East Patchogue resident and foster mom for Catty Cat's Corner, a small group of volunteers who help stray and homeless cats in Suffolk County, took in the cat who was recently found injured.
While driving on a busy street, the injured cat was seen running in traffic. One of the Catty Cat's volunteers followed her and managed to catch her.
The calico cat was rushed to a veterinarian's office, who said the cat was about 4 to 5 years old and in heat. According to Lappin, she has now been spayed and an x-ray needed to be taken. However, since Catty Cat's does not receive any funding to cover vet bills, Lappin asked for help through a GoFundMe campaign.

"We rarely ask for donations, but if you would like to donate, her total bill was $100," Lappin wrote on the page. "We will take good care of her and do our best to see if her owner can be found."
The page, which was created two weeks ago, has already reached its goal thanks to two donors.

"Thank you to two very generous donators! Because of them, we are able to end this particular fundraiser," Lappin wrote. "We will continue to try to find this pretty girl's family or find her a new family that will love her forever."
