Last weekend, June 9, 2013, my wife asked me to take her to a yard sale in Patchogue, NY. OK … after going to three yard sales, Marie said, “Let’s go for a little ride…” “Let’s go for a ride,” soon turned into “Let’s go for a ride to Gosman’s and have dinner.” On route to Gosman’s Dock, in Montauk, NY, I inadvertently drove past the “Surf Lodge,” and found 10 police officers and hundreds of cars parked on the side of the road! I asked a Police officer, “hey what’s going on;” he replied “a Willie Nelson Concert.” OMG… the Willie Nelson Concert! A week earlier, I heard about the concert but was unable to buy a ticket, because the show was sold out!
Thousands of other people were disappointed because they were also unable to buy tickets , but they didn’t let that stop them! Americans are notorious for being creative! LOL. How can I go to a concert that will be held on the deck of a Club, that is located on the water? Hummmm… Water… Hummm… Boat… Hummm!
There were thousands of people enjoying the Willie Nelson concert from a deck, from the side of the road, and from the Marine Assault Flotilla! LOL. I just couldn’t believe my eyes; there were a few hundred people watching the concert, from the water; while lounging on anything that would float. It was absolutely hysterical; Kayaks, Paddle Boards, Surf Boards, Rubber Rafts and one passenger Sailboats. I did not know that the Hamptons had their own marine convoy! LOL!

The concert was wonderful, but the mariners brought a smile to my face! Absolutely five stars! Too bad I didn’t have a dinghy! The smile is still on my face. The amazing vista was worth the trip! Marie and I had a wonderful time on our day trip to Montauk!
