PATCHOGUE, NY — When times are tough, heroes emerge. We all know someone who's making a difference right now as we live through unprecedented times. Here at Patch, we've launched an initiative to help recognize these everyday heroes.

Patchogue resident Kevin Brennan, a PSEG Long Island employee and volunteer firefighter, was nominated by his co-worker, CJ Greene.

Greene wanted to honor Brennan because he "loves giving back to the community" and "always has a smile on his face." In addition, Greene says that Brennan is the only member of the Patchogue Fire Department to receive the Rookie of the Year award two years in a row.
