Man Assaulted While Walking Dog In East Patchogue

The man was walking at about 12:30 a.m. when a man approached him and asked why he was walking his dog so late before punching him.

EAST PATCHOGUE, NY — A man was assaulted while walking his dog in East Patchogue early Tuesday. Suffolk Police confirmed they received a report of a man that he was punched several times on Lake Drive around 12:20 a.m. Police are still investigating. No arrests have been made.

Police did not release a description of the subject. No further information was immediately available.

The man's daughter, who asked to remain anonymous, says her father was walking the dog when a white colored vehicle pulled over and a "larger man" in a blue shirt questioned him why he was walking a dog so late.

The man then began to beat him up, stating he was going to "kill him and the dog," his daughter said. Once the assaulter left, the man called the cops and as he was trying to stand back up using a fence, the assaulter returned "for round two."
