Man Attacked, Struck With A Piece Of Wood In Patchogue: Police
He was transported by private vehicle to Long Island Community Hospital in East Patchogue, Suffolk cops say.
PATCHOGUE, NY — A man was assaulted and struck in the head with a piece of wood early Sunday morning in Patchogue, Suffolk police say.
Staff at Long Island Community Hospital in East Patchogue called police just before 4 a.m. to report the man showed up in the Emergency Room for treatment after the assault, police said. He stated that he was walking on Main Street just after midnight, and he was approached by a group of people, one of whom, was described as a male, and he hit him in the head with a piece of wood, according to police.
Fifth Squad detectives are investigating the assault, police said.
