Nassau Bicyclist Struck, Seriously Injured In Suffolk: Cops
He was airlifted to Stony Brook University Hospital, police said.
HOLTSVILLE, NY — A bicyclist was struck by a sedan and seriously injured in Holtsville on Saturday morning, police said.
A 41-year-old Massapequa man was riding his bicycle northbound on North Ocean Avenue around 9 a.m. when he tried to make a left turn, just north of Jamaica Avenue, and he was struck by a northbound 2007 Honda Civic driven by a 52-year-old Blue Point man, according to police.
The 41-year was airlifted with serious injuries to Stony Brook University Hospital, police said, adding that the driver was not injured, police said.

The Honda was impounded for a safety check, according to police.
It was the first of two serious crashes on Saturday in which bicyclists were struck.

A Ridge man was charged with leaving the scene of a serious crash with injuries after the luxury sedan he was driving struck a bicyclist in East Islip around 9:25 a.m.
