Parade, bbq and live performances commemorate the anniversary.

The celebrated their 90th anniversary on Saturday evening.

A competitive parade traveling down Route 112 in Medford kicked off the celebration. Approximately 26 volunteer fire departments from across Suffolk County marched in support of the milestone achievement.

"We held a county-judged parade where the departments compete for various trophies. We decided to do one for the anniversary because it's fun," said Medford Fire Department Chief William Wyche. "It gets the guys out to have a little competition. You know the fire service - its all about competition."
