Mother Cat, 4 Dead Kittens Found Abandoned Inside Travel Carrier
The Suffolk SPCA is offering a $2,000 reward for information on whoever abandoned the animals in a wooded area.

PATCHOGUE, NY- The Suffolk County SPCA is asking for the public’s help to find whoever left a mother cat and her four dead kittens abandoned inside a travel carrier in a wooded area in Patchogue.
A person walking in the area spotted the travel carrier near Grove Avenue between Newins and Smith streets on Wednesday, according to SPCA Chief Roy Gross.
The carrier had the initials TOH on it. It is unclear how long the carried had been in the woods before it was found.

Suffolk SPCA investigators are working on the case and the SPCA is offering a $2,000 reward for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the individual(s) responsible for the crime.
Abandonment of a companion animal is a misdemeanor animal cruelty charge and is punishable by imprisonment and/or a fine.

“We urge anyone with information to contact us so that we are able to bring the individual(s) responsible for this crime to justice,” Gross said.
The mother cat is being fostered and will be available for adoption. Anyone with information should call the Suffolk County SPCA at 631-382-7722. All calls will be kept confidential.
