BAYPORT, NY - A new Bayport fitness studio will celebrate its grand opening with a ceremony this weekend. Pure Barre opened its doors on 905 Montauk Highway last month. The new studio offers members a low-impact, total-body workout using a ballet barre and small pulsing movements.

Pure Barre Bayport is owned and operated by Sara Kuhar and her husband, Dan Kuhar. Both attended college at Providence College in Rhode Island, where Sara majored in accounting and minored in dance. After graduation, Sara worked in accounting in New York City and moved to Long Island with her husband and their daughter.

Once on Long Island, Sara became an instructor at Pure Barre and loved the workout, atmosphere and community which led her to want to open her own studio in Bayport.

"Right when you walk into a Pure Barre class, there is such a great atmosphere in the room," Sara said. Pure Barre facilitates amazing community and offers a low intensity, musically driven workout that leads each person to their fitness goals. I’m excited to bring Pure Barre to the Bayport community and push new members to achieve whatever they set their minds to."

The fitness trend has recently become extremely popular recently, with over 550,000 dedicated followers across North America.
