Eric Post with the American Jewish Committee said, "We feel that an attack on any of our groups is an attack on all of us."

RONKONKOMA, NY — An explosion at a mosque in Ronkonkoma is being considered a hate crime, according to police.
The metallic crescent moon was damaged in the explosion at the Masjid Fatima Alzahra Mosque when an incendiary device blew up on Sunday night.
Eric Post is the Long Island Director of the American Jewish Committee (AJC).

"We feel that an attack on any of our groups is an attack on all of us," Post said.
Post hopes that the mosque attack was done by a young person, "because then these people can be educated as opposed to someone we see in Highland Park [Illinois] who is clearly radicalized or has specific indoctrination into hate."
The Community of Conscience is raising $10,000 to replace the crescent through a GoFundMe page.
"Hate has no place on Long Island," Post said.
