Patchogue Board Of Education Reorganization Meeting: What To Know

The re-organization meeting for the Patchogue-Medford Board Of Education is set to take place Monday.

PATCHOGUE, NY — The 149th re-organization meeting of the Patchogue-Medford Board of Education is set to begin at 7 p.m. Monday at South Ocean Middle School in Patchogue. The meeting is open to the public and will be followed by the July business meeting.

The re-organization meeting is broken into five segments: a call to order, welcome/ground rules, presentations and reports, public comments on reports and agenda items, and consent agenda, which includes school minutes, finance, personnel and new business.

A tentative agenda posted on the district's website states the meeting will begin with an approval of minutes, personnel, education opportunities for students with disabilities, and 17 financial reports covering various aspects of the school's major expenses.

The contracts of 34 employees will each need individual approval, as well as the selection of Villa Lombardi's as the venue for the Class of 2020's senior prom.

The meeting will also include the approval of scholarships, the removal of obsolete items, the approval of student trips, the authorization of the 2019-2020 budget calendar and a reading of major school related policies.
