Patchogue Family YMCA Holds Free Skin Cancer Screening
YMCA Encourages Long Islanders to be checked for Skin Cancer, the Most Common Cancer in the U.S.
WHAT: In observance of Skin Cancer and Melanoma Awareness Month, the Patchogue Family YMCA will be offering FREE skin cancer screenings by the Stony Brook Medicine’s Departments of Dermatology and Surgery. The Patchogue Family YMCA will also host an educational lecture presented by a physician who specializes in the prevention and detection of skin cancer, including melanoma. Sun protection items and patient education materials will be provided.
The YMCA-LI would like to remind Long Islanders early detection is critical as skin Cancer is the most common form of cancer in the United States. In fact, it's estimated that more than a million Americans will be diagnosed with skin cancer this year.
