Patchogue Fire Department Hosts Their 2nd Annual Brush Truck Training Competition
Many local fire departments participated

On Saturday September 20th , the Patchogue fire department held its annual brush truck training competition for the 2nd year in a row. The competition consists of 5 different events which for the most part simulate different situations fire fighters may encounter both in the woods during a brush fire as well as during the course of their other duties. Though it is set up in a competition format with trophys handed out to the top performers in each event and overall this also serves as a training experience for the Departments who participate. This years event was held in Ridge NY at Firemans park and was attended by 15 departments from as far east as Orient. In the End the Overall winners were Middle Island & Farmingville (tied for 1st ) and Yaphank fire department placed 3rd. The chiefs office and the Brush Truck Competition Committee thanked everyone who came out to make this event a success and are already getting a jump start on planning next years event.
