Patchogue-Medford School Budget Passes

The votes are in. The absentee ballots were counted and the community approved the 2020-2021 school budget.

PATCHOGUE, NY — Residents within the Patchogue School District boundaries voted to approve the 2020-21 school budget by a margin of 4,042 votes to 2,181.

Residents voted on the district's proposed $195,172,581 spending plan for the school year, a 0.24 percent increase from the current budget. To fund the increase, the district proposed a tax levy of $2,035,000 up 0.25 percent from the current year's.

For the two open Board of Education seats, Kelli Anne Jennings and Diana Andrade were elected, beathing out Gerard Bringmann. Jennings received 4,353 votes, Andrade received 4,143 votes and Bringmann received 2,142 votes.

Jennings and Andrade will to serve on the Board of Education until June 30, 2023.

In addition, Elizabeth Kennedy received 5,344 votes and will serve on the Patchogue-Medford Library Board until June 30, 2025.
