UPDATE: Police ID Man Struck By Truck And Killed In Suffolk On Sunday
He was struck was struck by a northbound 2021 Dodge Ram pickup truck at about 5:30 p.m., police said.
UPDATE 10:24 p.m.: Police said that at about 5:30 p.m., Mely Josue Galeas-Roque, 32, of Patchogue, was crossing Route 112, north of Shaber Road, when he was struck by a northbound 2021 Dodge Ram pickup truck that was driven by Ryan Novia.
He was transported to by ambulance to Long Island Community Hospital in East Patchogue where he was pronounced dead, said police, adding that Novia, 37, of Patchogue, was not injured in the crash.
The Dodge that Novia was driving was impounded for a safety check.

EAST PATCHOGUE, NY — A pedestrian was struck by a vehicle and killed Sunday evening, Suffolk police said.
The person, whose name has not been released was struck by a vehicle on Medford Avenue, near Morris Avenue, at about 5:30 p.m., said police, adding that the person was then transported to a local hospital and pronounced dead.
