Police Issue 57 Summonses at Motorcycle Safety Checkpoint
Checkpoint was conducted on the LIE Sunday.

A North Babylon man whose license has been suspended 17 times was arrested at a motorcycle safety checkpoint Sunday on the Long Island Expressway, police said.
Robert Russo, 43, is charged with second degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle. Russo was also issued summonses for improper U-turn and pedestrian walking on the highway after he tried to avoid the checkpoint and several other safety violations.
Highway Patrol officers stopped 134 motorcycles between 11:05 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. as they passed through the checkpoint, located between exits 65 and 66 on the LIE in Yaphank, and a total of 57 summonses were issued for the following safety violations:
