Police, N. Patchogue Fire Department Members Revive Unresponsive Woman
A 72-year-old woman was found unconscious in her East Patchogue home early Saturday.

EAST PATCHOGUE, NY - Suffolk County Police officers and rescue personnel from the North Patchogue Fire Department revived an unresponsive woman in East Patchogue early Saturday morning.
According to police, a man called 911 to report his 72-year-old wife was unresponsive and without a pulse at their home on Rosalie Place at about 3:20 a.m. Fifth Precinct Police Officer James Berberich and members of the North Patchogue Fire Department Ambulance responded and began CPR. Multiple shocks were administered from an Automatic External Defibrillator (AED), police said.
Police Officer Arnold Reyes, a member of the department’s Medical Crisis Action Team (MedCAT), then arrived and began to provide advanced life support including administering cardiac medication directly through an intraosseous needle inserted into the bone marrow space, police said.

Within minutes, the woman’s pulse and breathing were restored and she was transported by the North Patchogue Fire Department to Brookhaven Memorial Hospital Medical Center in East Patchogue where she was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit in critical condition.
