Police: Patchogue Woman Was Drunk, Speeding With Her 2-Year-Old in Car

Woman is arrested early Tuesday by Nassau County Police.

A Patchogue woman faces numerous charges after she was caught driving while intoxicated with her 2-year-old child in her vehicle on the Long Island Expressway in Plainview early Tuesday, Nassau police said.

According to police, Tiffany Alicea, 28, was driving east on the LIE in a Dodge SUV when she was observed speeding by highway patrol officers. The officers conducted a traffic stop and arrested Alicea at 1:20 a.m. after determining that she was intoxicated, police said.

Alicea’s 2-year-old daughter was removed from the scene by her father, police said.

Alicea is charged with aggravated DWI–a felony under Leandra’s Law–endangering the welfare of a child, DWI, two counts of first degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, suspended registration and multiple traffic violations. She will be arraigned on Tuesday at First District Court in Hempstead.
