Raiders Eliminated From Baseball Playoffs

West Islip upsets third-seeded Patchogue-Medford in loser's bracket.

With their ace on the mound, most figured Patchogue-Medford would start its cruise through the loser’s bracket of the Suffolk County Class AA playoffs Saturday.

Instead the third-seeded Raiders were sent packing and eliminated from the post-season in the fourth round of the consolation bracket after a 4-0 loss to tenth-seeded West Islip.

Lions freshman Sam Ilario hit a two-out bases-loaded triple in the top of the sixth off Matt Vogel for the win. Llario finished the day 2-for-3.
