Varsity girls tennis managed a 6-1 victory over Longwood on Tuesday in their opening game, while other Patchogue-Medford Raider varsity sport teams had a rougher start to the new school year. Girls varsity soccer lost 3-0 in their opening game to Eastport/South Manor on Monday.
Tuesday, varsity field hockey lost to Southampton 2-1 in their opening game, as well as varsity boys golf to Bellport in their second match of the fall.
Varsity girls volleyball will play Brentwood at home at 4 p.m. and varsity girls soccer will play Bellport at home at 6 p.m. Wednesday.
