Suffolk Sheriff To Crack Down On Handicapped Parking Violations
The enforcement efforts began Friday and will continue through New Year's.

YAPHANK, NY — The Suffolk sheriff’s office will be cracking down on illegal parking in handicapped spaces throughout the county, his public information office said Friday.
Starting Friday through New Year’s Day, all deputy sheriffs will be directing additional enforcement efforts to those violations, the office said.
Sheriff Toulon said that the purpose of the enforcement is to deter "the illegal use of handicap parking spots, which creates an additional hardship, especially during the holiday season, for the residents of Suffolk County who actually are in need of these spaces.”
