Photos: Village Square Grand Opening
Brothers Mike and Peter O'Hara, who helped develop and construct the new Village Square at 272 E. Main St., held a grand opening and ribbon cutting event last Thursday.
Mike and Peter O'Hara, along with the Aillage of Patchogue, held a grand opening ceremony for the at the corner of Bay Avenue and East Main Street last Thursday.
The shopping center, consisting of a Bethpage Federal Credit Union, a 7-11 and a Checkers, was on display as the brothers and Patchogue Mayor Paul Pontieri cut the ceremonial ribbon to signify the opening of the center.
“It’s very important for the village because originally here was the tire facility and it didn’t have a big impact – it was more industrial – and here this now has a commercial impact as you enter the village,” Peter O’Hara said. “We did the entire parking lot with the village lighting – that was mandated also. And it’s a big impact – I think people when they first come into a village – It’s very important, it’s a first impression for everything. And I think with a center like this, it’s just good for the village.”
