Yankees' Exec Ray Negron Motivates Students At Long Island Elementary School

BROOKHAVEN, NY — New York Yankees executive Ray Negron gave a motivational speech to students at Brookhaven Elementary School on Tuesday, telling them how his life was changed by a second chance from former team owner George Steinbrenner, South Country School District officials said.

Negron, an author, producer, and motivational speaker, told his life story through a skit and animated video, telling them how Steinbrenner offered him a second chance in life with a position as a Yankees’ bat boy, according to school district officials.

In that story, he inspired the students to make good choices and to give others second chances, school district officials said.
