This Labor Day weekend, the Sherman Chamber Ensemble explores that question through music by Leonard Bernstein, Igor Stravinsky, Béla Bartók, and Ernő Dohnányi.

Join Pawling Yoga &amp; Wellness for an evening of music, great food, dancing, and meaningful connection as we celebrate the resilience of our incredible community and invest in its future.
On July 4th, Pawling Yoga &amp; Wellness lost our beloved studio at 26 East Main Street to a devastating fire. For an organization with big goals, this challenge was not on the roadmap.
In the aftermath of the tragedy, one thing is clear: the heart of Pawling Yoga &amp; Wellness is not, and has never been, a building. It is the people we serve and the community that surrounds us.&nbsp;
Less than a week after the fire, we reopened in a temporary space. We are so grateful for the support of our neighbors in helping us continue to provide our wellness services—including sliding-scale Pay What You Can yoga classes, community clinic sessions, senior classes, bilingual programming, and youth wellness offerings—to community members even as we grapple with the loss of our space.&nbsp;
The sole purpose of our fundraiser on September 18 is to sustain these services for our neighbors over the next 12 months.&nbsp;
This year's theme, Keep Our Heart Beating, is both a promise and a heartfelt request: help us keep the programs you and our community value alive while we walk the long road back to a permanent home.
Every ticket purchased and every donation made helps us continue serving the participants of our existing programs, including:&nbsp;
<ul><li>Subsidized Pay What You Can yoga classes that allow students of all backgrounds and income levels to participate.</li><li>Pay What You Can Community Clinic that connects people to affordable wellness treatments like massage, acupuncture, reiki, yoga therapy, and more.</li><li>Youth Wellness programming, which aims to foster community, connection and reduce the anxiety experienced in our younger people.</li><li>Senior Wellness Initiatives, which bring yoga, creative activities, and family meals to the seniors in Pawling.&nbsp;</li><li>Bilingual wellness programming, including our weekly bilingual yoga class.</li></ul>

The Jay Heritage Center in Rye, New York will celebrate America at 250 with a toast to Jay Medal honorees Pulitzer Prize-winning author Annette Gordon-Reed, the Carl M. Loeb University Professor at Harvard University and award-winning Lincoln historian Harold Holzer.
The Jay Medal for Service was created in 2012 to recognize individuals who demonstrate a selfless spirit of commitment to and engagement with their community mirroring the multifaceted contributions of John Jay and his descendants. These honorees have demonstrated through their life's work that our shared narratives as a country, complicated as they are, can be better illuminated through the highest caliber of ongoing scholarship and advocacy. Honorees are selected for their excellence in the fields of American history, environmental stewardship, social justice or civic engagement.
Joining the celebration will be Chief Judge of the State of New York and the New York Court of Appeals, Honorable Rowan D. Wilson and historian and philanthropist Elihu Rose who will present the awards at JHC's annual Soirée. Special guests will include David Blight, Frank Cogliano, Joanne Freeman, and Beverly Gage.

The Jay Medal Soirée will be held Saturday, September 19, 2026 at the Jay Estate from 5:30-9:30pm. Cocktails, dinner, award ceremony and dancing. Cocktail Attire.
