2nd Murderer Sentenced Today with Diana Nadell
Andrea Benson helped Nadell kill her mother-in-law.

When Diana Nadell, 52 of Cutler Bay, FLA was sentenced to 23 years to life in state prison today for killing her mother-in-law, the last of the other three women in the murder conspiracy was also sentenced.
Co-defendant Andrea Benson, 26, of Washington, DC was sentenced to 20 years to life on her June, 2014 guilty plea to one count of Murder in the Second Degree, a class “A-1” Felony.
Peggy Nadell was found murdered in her home at 644 Andover Road in Valley Cottage at 10 a.m. Jan. 25, 2014.

An extensive investigation by the Clarkstown Police Department and the Rockland County District Attorney’s Office revealed that Diana Nadell had traveled to Washington, D.C. the day before—under the guise of attending a wedding. After meeting at the airport, Nadell offered Benson money to drive with her to New York to help in the attack on her mother-in-law, Peggy Nadell.
The two arranged an alibi and drove up to Valley Cottage—where Nadell made a phone call to her mother-in-law and got her to open the door—and then bludgeoned, strangled and stabbed the 80-year-old.

Diana Nadell had decided to kill her mother-in-law for the inheritance money, according to Rockland County District Attorney Thomas P. Zugibe.
The other two named as co-conspirators pleaded guilty last year to first-degree hindering a prosecution (also a felony).
