Pearl River Students' Letters Displayed At Maryknoll Museum
Follows Visit By Class From St. Margaret of Antioch Parish.

Many grade and high school children from miles around visit the Maryknoll Fathers and Brothers center in Ossining (Westchester County) to learn about the history and current work of Catholic mission. Recent visitors included students from Pearl River's St. Margaret School at St. Margaret of Antioch Parish.
Maryknoll priests and Maryknoll Brothers follow Jesus in serving the poor and others in need. The missioners address poverty, provide healthcare, build communities and promote human rights. Maryknoll’s mission education outreach throughout the country engages U.S. Catholics in mission through vocations, prayer, donations and as volunteers.
For more than 100 years, the Maryknoll Fathers and Brothers has served in mission in more than 40 countries. Current projects include the Buluk Eye Clinic in South Sudan to treat preventable blindness, agriculture initiatives in Bangladesh and Myanmar that generate funds to support students, care for abandoned orphans in Bolivia and programs for the homeless in San Francisco’s Tenderloin District.

Maryknoll Museum
The Maryknoll Museum of Living Mission is one of the favorite points of interest for students when they visit the Maryknoll center. In this museum, the children learn about Maryknoll's history and its mission work in Asia, Africa, Latin America and the U.S. The students also learn that all Catholics, at baptism, are called to serve in mission.

After a visit and then further discussion about mission when they return to their classrooms, many children write to the Maryknoll priests and Maryknoll Brothers to share their experiences. Several letters from students at St. Margaret of Antioch Parish recently were placed on display in the museum.
