Pfizer Pearl River Colleagues, Families Support Komen Race for the Cure
Almost twice as many Pearl River colleagues and family members participated in the NYC event this year.

PEARL RIVER, NY — Nearly 50 Pfizer Pearl River colleagues and family members joined a larger Pfizer group that participated in the Susan G. Komen Greater NYC Race for the Cure recently to show support to women and their families dealing with breast cancer.
Among the Pearl River colleagues who participated in the event were Liz Szczesniak, who also
participated in the New York City walk in past years as well as other Komen events in the Northeast U.S.
She said almost twice as many Pearl River colleagues and family members participated in the New York
City event this year.

“For me, it is a personal passion,” said Szczesniak, director of compliance at the Pfizer research and
development site. “To see the women who are survivors walk with their families is incredibly inspiring,
especially as a Pfizer employee who has previously worked in the oncology group.”
Pfizer was a Diamond level sponsor of the 2017 Susan G. Komen Greater NYC Race for the Cure. Pearl
River is one of Pfizer’s five primary research sites and a central hub for oncology and vaccine research
and development.
