Spectra OK to Start Prep Work in Pomona on Algonquin Pipeline Expansion
Federal officials issued approval order today

The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission today granted permission for Spectra Energy to begin building two construction staging yards along the Hudson River for the first of its expansion projects for the Algonquin natural gas pipeline through New York into New England.
The letter comes five days after FERC told opponents of the AIM Project that their requests for a reexamination were under consideration.

The local staging areas will be in Pomona and Montrose.
In all, Spectra today received permission to build, modify or use 10 construction work areas along the pipeline through New York into New England. The pipeline ends at Atlantic Ocean terminals in New England and Canada.

The 10 sites:
- Norwood Meter Station in Norfolk County, Massachusetts;
- Wellesley Meter Station in Norfolk County, Massachusetts;
- Brockton Meter Station in Plymouth County, Massachusetts ;
- Middleborough Meter Station in Plymouth County, Massachusetts;
- North Fall River Meter Station in Bristol County, Massachusetts;
- Assonet Meter Station in Bristol County, Massachusetts
- Hudson West Yard in Rockland County, New York;
- Hudson East Yard in Westchester County, New York;
- Cromwell Yard #1 in Middlesex County, Connecticut
- Dedham Yard in Norfolk County, Massachusetts.
