According to Superintendent Joseph Hochreiter, "the district was informed of state police activity in the vicinity of Buchanan-Verplanck Elementary School and Frank G. Lindsey this morning, around 9 am. Based on the recommendation of the police, those two schools, as well as the high school and district office, were put on lockout. During a lockout, no students, staff or visitors are permitted into the building, although regular school day activities continue inside. We are in regular communication with the local authorities, and we will continue to update with further developments."
