$91K Grant To Peekskill-Based HRHCare for HIV Patients

The federal block grant will be used to improve care management of people living with HIV.

PEEKSKILL, NY โ€“ Hudson River HealthCare will receive $91,000 for its work with HIV-positive patients. The funding was announced by Congresswoman Nita Lowey (D-NY17/Rockland-Westchester). The money is a federal Ryan White Part C HIV Capacity Development and Planning Grant to improve and enhance care management of people living with HIV.

โ€œThe funding announced today will support Hudson River HealthCareโ€™s vital work to improve the quality of care and health outcomes for patients with HIV,โ€ Lowey said in her announcement. โ€œOur communities are stronger when we make these kinds of investments in health.โ€

HRHCare is a federally qualified health center that provides access to comprehensive primary and preventive health care to patients throughout the Hudson Valley and Long Island.

โ€œWe are excited to be awarded this Ryan White Part C Capacity Development funding to augment the care for almost 1,000 individuals living with HIV throughout our service area who are receiving care through HRHCareโ€™s Genesis HIV treatment program,โ€ said Anne Kauffman Nolon, MPH, President and CEO of HRHCare. โ€œThe resources will help to ensure that critical care coordination is in place to reduce duplication and improve health outcomes.โ€

The Ryan White Part C HIV Capacity Development and Planning Grants program is administered by the Health Resources and Services Administration, an agency of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.
