Assemblywoman Galef focuses on Rehabilitation Through the Arts at Sing Sing Correctional Facility on “Dear Sandy” TV Show

Assemblywoman Sandy Galef discusses the benefits of arts for those who are struggling to find themselves while serving time in correctional facilities in the Hudson Valley with Katherine Vockins, the Founder and Executive Director of Rehabilitation Through the Arts on this episode of “Dear Sandy.”

Rehabilitation Through the Arts is an organization founded in 1996 to use the power of the arts to help prisoners develop the skills that they need to successfully re-enter the community. Since their beginnings in 1996 they have spread their work to multiple New York State prisons, and have touched countless lives.

“Rehabilitation Through the Arts does such powerful work with those who are incarcerated,” said Galef. “I am glad to highlight their efforts so that my viewers are aware of the efforts being made to rehabilitate and re-integrate those who serve time in correctional facilities.”
