Burglar Drinks, Poops, Steals Booze, Police Say

An upstate resident has been arrested.

CORTLANDT, NY — Police investigating a break-in at the Redline Roadhouse on July 13 have arrested an upstate man.

The burglar forced entry into the bar on Albany Post Road in Cortlandt, breaking a window. He drank alcoholic beverages and defecated on the floor. Then he stole more than $2,000 worth of liquor.

Peekskill and New York State police investigated. On July 16, they arrested Wade H. Scheuritzel, Jr. of Orchard Park, New York.

Scheuritzel 34, was charged with Burglary in the 3rd degree, a class D felony, Criminal Mischief in the 3rd degree, and Grand Larceny in the 4th degree, a class E felony.

Scheuritzel was arraigned before the town of Cortlandt Court and released to the custody of the Rockland County Sheriff’s Department due to an outstanding matter.
