Thursday Matinee Film Series; Movie Favorites: "The Conspirator" (PG-13)

Join us upstairs at the Library in the Community Room. No registration required.

Educator and Film Series facilitator Victor Messick and “Movie Favorites” are back for six Thursdays starting October 15.

Thursday Matinee regulars John, Bob, Claudia, Del, Rick, and Faye will share one movie each from their list of favorites and with Victor’s help will facilitate the discussion afterwards. Come watch a movie, stay for the discussion and maybe you’ll leave with a new movie to add to your list of favorites!

The Conspirator: Following the assassination of President Lincoln, seven men and one woman are arrested and charged with conspiring to kill Lincoln, the vice president and the Secretary of State. Lawyer Frederick Aiken reluctantly agrees to defend the lone woman, Mary Surratt, who owns a boarding house where John Wilkes Booth and others met to plan their crimes. Aiken realizes that Mary may be innocent and being used as bait to capture her son, a suspect who is still at large. (2011) (2h1m) Vic and Bob have selected this as one of their favorites. They will join us to talk about why after the film.
