Thursday Matinee Film Series; Movie Favorites: "The In-laws" (PG)

Join us upstairs at the Library in the Community Room. No registration required.

Educator and Film Series facilitator Victor Messick and “Movie Favorites” are back for six Thursdays starting October 15.

Thursday Matinee regulars John, Bob, Claudia, Del, Rick, and Faye will share one movie each from their list of favorites and with Victor’s help will facilitate the discussion afterwards. Come watch a movie, stay for the discussion and maybe you’ll leave with a new movie to add to your list of favorites!

The In-Laws: Mild-mannered dentist Sheldon Kornpett (Alan Arkin) is uncomfortable with his daughter's marriage after meeting her future father-in-law, Vince Ricardo (Peter Faulk). Over dinner, Vince tells Sheldon about several of his intercontinental exploits, and Sheldon is concerned that Vince is not altogether what he seems. His suspicions are confirmed when Vince reveals that he's actually a CIA agent investigating an international counterfeiting plot, and that he will need Sheldon's help. (1979) (1h43m) Claudia and Del have selected this as one of their favorites. They will join us to talk about why after the film.
