Celebrating Family First at Mount Olivet Baptist Church
Family First: 1st Annniversary with Pastor Young at Mount Olivet Baptist Church in Peekskill
It is with great joy and anticipation that the Mount Olivet Baptist Church cordially announces its first anniversary celebration of our pastor, Rev. Dr. Robert E. Young. The scripture that undergirds this year’s Pastoral Celebration can be found in Joshua 24:15, which reads as follows: “But as for me and my family, we will serve the Lord.” Thus, the theme for Pastor Young’s first anniversary is “Family First”. And what a year it has been!
Although a newcomer to Northern Westchester, Rev. Young has quickly made his presence felt. At Mount Olivet, he has introduced spiritual growth challenges and practices for each month, instituted a 7 am mid-week Word of Wholeness inspirational conference call, presented a new Church Statement of Purpose, held a Spring Church Renewal Seminar and launched a church-wide Project Strength Campaign. Beyond the church walls, Rev. Young assumed the mantle of Peekskill Police chaplain and was recently elected Vice President of PAPA, the Peekskill Area Pastor’s Association. Whether providing our area’s first-ever Juneteenth worship service, participating in a vigil for the victims of last year’s South Carolina church massacre, or promoting relationships among all local houses of faith, Rev. Young has become a viable and vital part of the Peekskill community. The weeklong celebration includes:
· Wednesday, July 13th,7:30 pm: Worship service featuring Rev. Dr. Vernon Shelton, Sr. Pastor of Holy Trinity Baptist Church in Amityville, NY

Rev. Young emphasizes servant discipleship and encourages the Mount Olivet family to serve and grow stronger together. We sincerely invite the Peekskill community to join us in honoring this man of God as we heartily celebrate Pastor Young’s 1st Anniversary.
