Cops: Cortlandt Teen Tried To Pass Bad Check

She's in the Orange County Jail.

CORTLANDT, NY — The New York State Police announce the arrest of 18-year-old Alexandria S. Clarke, who is accused of trying to cash a bad check.

State Police were called Jan. 18 to a local bank in the Montgomery region where a woman was reported to be passing a fictitious check which purported to be a payroll check from a hospital in Dutchess County, NY.

Police said had she succeeded, she would have defrauded the financial institution out of an amount exceeding $1,000 dollars. The investigation remains ongoing at this time.
