Cops say Cortlandt Man Burgled Putnam House, Fled to Danbury
A crowbar fight was apparently part of the mix.

PUTNAM VALLEY, NY – A Cortlandt man has been accused of burglary after an incident that started in Putnam Valley and ended in Danbury, CT.
On Sept. 9, state troopers responded to a Wenonah Road home for a reported burglary and assault. A subsequent investigation revealed that the victim went to his garage and was attacked by a suspect who was armed with a crowbar.
Police allege that Julian A. Moreno, 32, struck the victim in the head with the crowbar and a struggle ensued. The victim gained control of the crowbar and struck Moreno before he fled on his motorcycle.

A neighbor contacted 911 for police assistance after hearing the victim call for help.
With the assistance of the Danbury Police Department, Moreno was located at Applebees on Federal Road in Connecticut, police said. Moreno was placed in custody on September 9, 2016 by Danbury Police and lodged as a fugitive from Justice.

Following his extradition to New York, Moreno was arraigned in the Town of Putnam Valley Justice Court by the Honorable Louis DiCarlo.
On Sept. 20, 2016, he was charged Burglary 2nd Degree, a Class C Felony.
He was remanded to the Putnam County Jail in lieu of $10,000 cash bail or $10,000 bond. Moreno is due to appear in Putnam Valley Court on Oct. 6.
